About Us

Anthony
Shaw

CPA, CA

M. Anthony Shaw, CPA, CA is the founder and Principal Consultant with Broadlands Corporate Consulting. He is a seasoned regional banker and corporate advisor with over 30 years’ experience across Canada and the Caribbean.

A graduate of McGill University, he began his career with KPMG and Scotiabank in Montreal and Toronto and completed executive training in Strategic Planning and a Jamaica Stock Exchange course in Corporate Governance.

He is a former Managing Director of the Development Bank of Jamaica and previously served as Market Head for the Eastern Caribbean operations of a leading Canadian bank.

He was also the founding CEO of Signia Financial Group Inc., where he established the business, implemented robust systems and controls, and built a strong customer-oriented sales culture, achieving sustained profitability within four years of operations.

Mr. Shaw later served as CEO of the Nation Group, a diversified media company owning a national newspaper, operating four radio stations, and managing several other related businesses. He currently serves on several MSME boards in Jamaica and Barbados.

Experience Across the MSME Life Cycle Through his leadership roles across multiple MSME companies, Mr. Shaw has been directly involved in businesses from initial start-up through to established and scaled operations.

His experience spans the full MSME life cycle, including early-stage formation, the design and implementation of systems and controls, growth and performance management, governance strengthening, and transition to sustainable, resilient operations.

From this work, he has consistently observed that while industries and contexts may differ, MSMEs tend to encounter a common set of challenges at predictable stages of their development—making timely, structured intervention critical to preventing short-term issues from becoming long-term structural weaknesses.
